Instructions
This is the site for filing your initial claim for unemployment insurance benefits. You must have worked in the State of Delaware during the past 18 months. You are required to complete the registration process with the Division of Employment and Training. You cannot use this site to file a claim if you are currently residing outside of the United States.

Make sure you have this information available:
  1. Your Social Security Number.
  2. If you are not a US citizen, you will need your Social Security Number, alien registration number and registration card expiration date.
  3. A telephone number where you can be reached.
  4. Your state issued driver's license or a state motor vehicle agency issued identification card.
  5. The names, addresses, and phone numbers of all your employers for the last 18 months.
  6. If you are in a union, you will need the name and local number of your union hall.

Important Information:

  • You will need a confirmation number for your claim to process.
  • You will receive a confirmation number on the last page of the Internet application after your claim is complete. Remember to keep the confirmation number for your records.
  • You may cancel your filing for your unemployment insurance benefit claim at any time by clicking the "Cancel Filing My Claim" button at the bottom of the page. If you cancel before receiving a confirmation number, any information that you have entered will be discarded.
