Instructions
This site permits individuals who have worked in the State of Delaware during the past 18 months to file their initial claim for unemployment insurance benefits and complete the required registration process with the Division of Employment and Training.

Before filing a claim on this site, you will need to have the following information available:
  1. Your Social Security Number.
  2. The names, addresses, and phone numbers of all your employers for the last 18 months.
  3. The name and local number of your union hall, if applicable.
  4. A telephone number where you can be reached.
  5. Your state issued driver's license or a state motor vehicle agency issued identification card.
  6. If you are not a US citizen, you will need your alien registration number and registration card expiration date.

Warning: Unless you receive a confirmation number, your claim will not be processed. The Delaware Department of Labor's Division of Unemployment Insurance will not retain any of the information you enter to file your claim until you receive your confirmation number.

The last page of the Internet application will state that your claim has been completed and will give you a confirmation number. You will then enter Delaware JobLink to complete the required registration with the Division of Employment & Training.

You may terminate filing your unemployment insurance benefit claim at any time by clicking the "Cancel Filing My Claim" button at the bottom of the page. If you exit the application before receiving a confirmation number, any information that you have entered will be discarded.

However, you cannot use this site to file a claim if you are currently residing outside of the United States. For more information, please contact the Delaware Department of Labor's Division of Unemployment Insurance.
Debit Card
The Delaware Division of Unemployment Insurance is now offering Debit Cards as an option to receive your weekly unemployment insurance benefits. If interested, you can select that option later in the application.
You will be required to choose the “TeleBenefits (Telephone)” or “WebBenefits (Internet)” option for filing for your weekly unemployment insurance benefits payment.
Direct Deposit
The Delaware Division of Unemployment Insurance offers Direct Deposit of unemployment insurance benefits to new and existing claimants. With Direct Deposit, your weekly unemployment insurance benefits payment is electronically deposited into your checking or savings account as long as your financial institution participates in the Direct Deposit program.

If you wish to take advantage of our Direct Deposit enrollment, you will need the following pieces of information:
  1. Your social security number,
  2. Your financial institution’s nine-digit bank routing/transit number,
  3. Your checking/savings account number (up to 17 digits), and
  4. Your state issued driver's license or a state motor vehicle agency issued identification card.
You will be required to choose the “TeleBenefits (Telephone)” or “WebBenefits (Internet)” option for filing for your weekly unemployment insurance benefits payment.

While filing your application, we need to confirm your identity. We partner with ID.me, a trusted technology provider specializing in digital identity protection. Their expertise ensures that your personal information remains secure and prevents unauthorized access. To speed up your claim process, you can verify your identity using ID.me now. This will automatically populate available data for you. If you already have an ID.me account, simply log in and consent to share your information with Delaware Department of Labor (DE DOL).
